About the Zombie Squirts:

As I was designing these adorable zombie stickers, I started seeing cartoon episodes in my head. Then I thought what a great picture book this would make! I decided to buy the artwork rights from the sticker company and started the book process. I was so grateful the company and I came to an agreement for them to keep selling the stickers and allow me to do what I wanted with the characters. They give me full support and wish me the best in my new adventure!

Jamie Thomas – World Reflections Photography Showcase

Jamie is the one on the Right.

Went to Jamie Thomas’s art show at the Side Door Lounge. Visit her Zenfolio here: http://jamiethomas.zenfolio.com/

From the Facebook Event Posting:

This Friday Nov 14th, 15 of Jamie Thomas’ Travel Photography images from around the world will be showcased at Side Door Lounge.

The exhibition will seek to draw attention to the colors and cultures from multiple countries around the world, as well as many images captured here in North America.

Jamie Thomas is an American photographer who over the past 8 years has traveled to 35 countries around the world as well as living in Asia, Europe, and North America. She has a strong passion for communicating her impressions visually, and for capturing details of color, moments, and cultures from new perspectives. She’s traveled to the most remote corners of the earth to share these images.

BDE_0318From Jamie’s About Page:

Over the last 6 years I’ve traveled to 35 countries around the world, as well as living on 3 different continents; South Korea for 1 1/2 years, Europe for 2 years, and North America in Honolulu, Hawaii and Omaha, Nebraska.

Inspirations for my photography are within the countries I’ve traveled to and the cultures I found myself surrounded by. In addition I’m a Certified Travel Agent. One of my biggest passions is bringing people together for events to meet other travelers and to help inspire travel and cultures, which has led me to become the founder of Nebraska’s largest Travel group as well as being the Moderator of Nebraska in CouchSurfing. Due to numerous volunteer jobs, giving travel talks, and my love of helping people and inspiring travel, in April 2014 the non-profit organization Hostelling International nominated me as US Volunteer of the Year which was a huge honor.

I try to differentiate my photography from what people are typically used to seeing, done through different images, different ways of shooting, and different composition & focuses. My photography that’s featured on this page has been taken over the past 6 years with various cameras and brands, my most recent camera being the Pentax K-7.

Project Artcast: Episode 9 – David Mainelli

About

I am 42 years old and born and raised in Omaha, NE.

Career…s
I have owned two restaurants since 1995 and still own Julio’s West Restaurant which my wife has so graciously allowed herself to be taken hostage by, freeing me to take on new undertakings.

I was able to get  around the world as a business consultant for Home Instead Inc., a job I loved. I left the position in 2012 due to my health. SeeAround the Damn World Page & Home Instead Senior Care

I am currently candidate for an MFA in Fiction at the University of Nebraska, and serve on the Board of Directors for a literary magazine called Fine Lines out of Omaha.
www.finelines.org

Art
I wrote a song for Home Instead about Alzheimer’s. It can be found around the web. I have played shows in the past, but slowed down in recent years. I have recently put a project together called Bazile Mills. I have had writing published in Fine Lines Magazine, by the Omaha Restaurant Association, and a few other places, but really only seriously entered the publishing arena recently. I have completed four screenplays, two novels, and many shorts and essays with little attempt to get them published; something hopefully the MFA will change.
