Jamie Thomas – World Reflections Photography Showcase

Jamie is the one on the Right.

Went to Jamie Thomas’s art show at the Side Door Lounge. Visit her Zenfolio here: http://jamiethomas.zenfolio.com/

From the Facebook Event Posting:

This Friday Nov 14th, 15 of Jamie Thomas’ Travel Photography images from around the world will be showcased at Side Door Lounge.

The exhibition will seek to draw attention to the colors and cultures from multiple countries around the world, as well as many images captured here in North America.

Jamie Thomas is an American photographer who over the past 8 years has traveled to 35 countries around the world as well as living in Asia, Europe, and North America. She has a strong passion for communicating her impressions visually, and for capturing details of color, moments, and cultures from new perspectives. She’s traveled to the most remote corners of the earth to share these images.

BDE_0318From Jamie’s About Page:

Over the last 6 years I’ve traveled to 35 countries around the world, as well as living on 3 different continents; South Korea for 1 1/2 years, Europe for 2 years, and North America in Honolulu, Hawaii and Omaha, Nebraska.

Inspirations for my photography are within the countries I’ve traveled to and the cultures I found myself surrounded by. In addition I’m a Certified Travel Agent. One of my biggest passions is bringing people together for events to meet other travelers and to help inspire travel and cultures, which has led me to become the founder of Nebraska’s largest Travel group as well as being the Moderator of Nebraska in CouchSurfing. Due to numerous volunteer jobs, giving travel talks, and my love of helping people and inspiring travel, in April 2014 the non-profit organization Hostelling International nominated me as US Volunteer of the Year which was a huge honor.

I try to differentiate my photography from what people are typically used to seeing, done through different images, different ways of shooting, and different composition & focuses. My photography that’s featured on this page has been taken over the past 6 years with various cameras and brands, my most recent camera being the Pentax K-7.
